To describe a “a day in the life” of a Parkview resident? IMPOSSIBLE! That implies that our residents are all the same, and the diversity of our residents is what makes Parkview an awesome place to live!

Edith rises at 5:00 a.m. each morning and walks a couple laps around the gorgeous property before meeting her friends in the dining hall for breakfast.

Ed gets up at 9:15 a.m. (not a minute earlier, not a minute later.) He was up late playing cards with new friends in the lobby, then watching a Netflix movie with a couple of them at his place.

Annette meets her knitting crew at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays, swapping family updates while they complete blankets for the community’s homeless. She sneaks out a bit before lunch to let out Oscar, her furry companion of seven years. Annette complains about Oscar every hour of the day, but everyone knows she adores his companionship, and chose Parkview in part because he could join her there.

Al never misses his noontime salad, complete with spinach and light dressing to appease his guest (his precious daughter who arrives each day at 11:36 a.m., tucking in a visit on her lunch hour.) Al then heads back to his apartment to finish off a box of Cheezits before settling in for the news and a nap.

Each afternoon at 3:00 p.m., Pat, Gretchen and Lola meet to watch Dr. Phil at Lola’s. They never hear a complete sentence, due to their own experiences and “expertise.” From there, no one knows exactly where they go, but occasionally one can see Pat’s swimsuit strap peeking out from her blouse, so the gang suspects she regularly enjoys an afternoon soak in the jacuzzi.

As much as Gretchen loves the community she has at Parkview, her very favorite hours of the day are when she can curl up in a corner of the library. She explores the world in those pages, then rejoins her gang for an early dinner.

Bill and Judy love classical music and take every opportunity they can get to sit and listen to the residents or guests play or sing. Once in a while they tolerate a little pop or jazz, but for the most part they can grab a little Mozart on a regular basis.

Art? Oh, how could we forget Art?! He’s been sitting at the puzzle table for the last four hours!  Proud of his skills, he gets a little impatient if you delay in finding the edge pieces, but if you can keep up, you’re more than welcome to join!

Parkview is a slice of home, no matter your name or pace. It’s YOUR home, and it is whatever you want your home to be.
