Zing or no zing – ‘tis the season for cider! Enjoy these simple recipes to make your party, football fun, or cozy Autumn afternoon complete!

Spiked Fall Cider (yields 3 cups)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple cider
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup peach schnapps
  • ¼ cup triple sec (orange-flavored liqueur)
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

Pour the apple cider, orange juice, schnapps, triple sec, cinnamon, and nutmeg into a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to low, and cook for 20 minutes. Serve hot.  (Equally yummy without the zing!)

All-Natural Fall (Slow-cooker) Cider

  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • Pears
  • Pomegranates
  • Cinnamon
  • Mulling Spices, and
  • Honey (or maple syrup if you prefer)

Simmer all ingredients in the crockpot for around 8 hours. Remove fruit and spice and blend until smooth.

(Caution: the aroma in your home is highly addictive, so you will want to keep all these items on your on-going grocery list!)
